A two storey passive-design house located near Golden, Co. Tipperary. This dwelling utilises many modern technologies and construction methods to ensure a low-energy requirement. House was designed to capitalise on low-energy, passive design concepts ranging from orientation and plan form, to detailing of building envelope and materials.

Design mirrors traditional storey and a half rural dwellings and makes optimum use of all available space within the highly insulated envelope. House was constructed by Griffner Coillte and was asseembled on site from complete wall, floor and roof panels. Off site pre-fabrication allowed for very high levels of engineering and pre-finishing, including windows.

External wall constuction entirely timber framed with with light weight render finish giving an ‘A’ rated dwelling which has performed above expectations. Contractor:
