One Million Trees in One Day

One Million Trees in One Day

The “One Million Trees in One Day” is a charity, not-for-profit, cross-border, community and environmental initiative. Together the goal is to plant 1 million native Irish trees at various sites across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in one day!

Clonmel will be participating and is hoping to plant in excess of 6000 trees on a 2 acre site at Greenan in the centre of town on Clonmel Borough Council land. This is by way of improving your town environment, expanding the urban forest network and encouraging landowners to take a similar leap to plant more trees and hedges especially along the Suir River and its tributaries.

2 acre site Old Soccer Field, Greenan, Old Bridge, Clonmel
Follow the green markers / balloons to get to the tree-planting site from Suir Island parking lot
along Old Bridge and into Green Lane. Bring along appropriate wear and a shovel (if you have one)
and you will be met by other friendly volunteers.

Join in this all-Clonmel, once-off initiative and sign up for an hour or two of tree-planting

to kick-start Spring and improve our town environment. Let us know when you can be there anytime from 12 to 6pm on Friday or from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
This initiative is being pursued in Clonmel by SuirCan Community Forum in conjunction and with support from Clonmel Borough Council.
Contact Lyn Mather of SuirCan at 086 3856720 to coordinate a time you can be there and for more info.
